Mayo native Martha Jordan is no stranger to the London inter-county scene and has been selected as Captain of the side this year. We caught up with her recently to find out all about the 2025 squad.

How long have you been playing with London?

Since 2018, so 8 years now.

What is your main motivation to play County football?

We have such a unique county in London with so much talent! We have a mix of players from Ireland who moved over to London, players from the UK or other countries in the world who have picked up the sport in London and home grown London players who have played here from underage.

Every year, we have new players join the panel and you never know what you're going to get which makes it fresh and exciting year on year. This unique blend of players and our shared love for the game brings a nice feeling of community spirit, teamwork and craic!

What are your thoughts after competing in the Ulster Championship for the first time this year?

This year London made its own little bit of history by joining the Ulster Championship for the very first time. Although we didn't get a win under our belt it was great for us to get more competitive game time against Antrim and Derry ahead of the All Ireland Championship coming up in June.

Who do you think your toughest opponents will be in the All Ireland campaign?

All of them! We've been drawn a very tough group for the Championship where we will take on Carlow, Antrim and Longford. Antrim are a strong side on a winning streak, having lost no matches this year. Longford will inevitably be a good side too having just come down from Intermediate last year. They are a bit of an unknown quantity with some fresh players and new management, so it will interesting to play them on our home turf in Ruislip on the 21st of June. Carlow have been chomping at the bit for years for the All-Ireland title, so that will surely be another very competitive game for us.

What has been a highlight in the County set up this year?

This year we have closed the gap with regards equality with the men's game and receive the same resources and training as the London GAA men's team do. We train in the same grounds as the London GAA team at Hazelwood Centre in Sunbury-on-Thames. We have started a Strength and Conditioning programme with Arete Performance where we have fantastic coaches including Olympian, Emma Uren - Captain of England Rugby Sevens. All of this will really stand to us in the upcoming games.

Describe the 2025 London Team in 3 words.

Young, Hardworking and Resilient
